Willing Circle

Willing Circle was organized in 1890 and is the oldest Circle in KDO history. The Circle sponsors a resident at the Illinois Presbyterian Home (IPH), providing companionship and special treats throughout the year. Willing Circle also arranges for an entertainment activity at IPH once a year and has hosted such programs as a musical tribute to Doris Day, an Elvis impersonator, and a magician with his rabbit named Snowball. Members assist Senior Services of Central Illinois with the Daily Bread Program and have actively participated in the KDO Annual Luncheon and Style Show, serving as chairpersons on the different committees.

The Circle meets at noon on the first Tuesday of the month, September through May, for a catered lunch at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Members are able to enjoy a catered luncheon during the business meeting.

We welcome new members and ask that you contact Molly Berns (217-414-8876) or Jane Locascio (217-306-3037) for more information.

Join us in our mission to create positive change and impact lives. Your support is crucial in enabling us to continue our vital work and make a lasting difference in our community.

“We assisted one particular client who is a single female in her late 60s with her utilities. She had some unexpected health issues, which resulted in unexpected medical bill. Being on a fixed income making sure that her all of her bills were paid on time was becoming a challenge. Thankfully through the assistance of KDO we were able to pay her CWLP bill so she didn’t get disconnected. Her appreciation was so great that she was moved to tears and later mailed us a thank you card. So many of our senior clients are like this individual in that they are living on a fixed income, their dollar isn’t going as far, they face unexpected bills, but don’t have the money to fall back on.”
